This web site has become (possibly one could say made) aware of Israeli dancers going all out generally on a Sunday where they may dance at and participate in as many as three events. This site already supports the group that gives out the Israeli dancer of the week award (IDOTW) which tries to gauge performance throughout an entire week. But what about a single day? How do we quantify this?

In essence, it seems as if the IDOTW award is almost counter cyclical to the question of what a dancer does in one day. Generally, this type of dancing activity is so tiring and stressful to the body that the dancer must take a few days to recover and therefore never becomes eligible for the IDOTW award even if meeting that awards other criteria.

Therefore, this web site has established its own award, The Iron[wo]man Israeli dance award and the first recipient did the following dance events to earn this on Feb 28, 2010

So, for her exploits that day, we are very pleased to award Lee Friedman the first of these awards. Below you can see the plaque (which is really a powerpoint document) that was given to her

Lee helps administer the Saturday International folk dance group that meets the first Saturday night on Riverton road off of Route 130 in New Jersey. We caught up with her there to present the award which comes with a box of chocolate. Below, you can see Lee in the middle holding her award. A fellow Israeli dancer, Georgia, who also attends ths International Folk Dancing session is helping Lee by holding the box of chocolates.

Congratulations to our winner,Lee, for her efforts on Sunday, Feb 28th, 2010

The second recipient of this award accomplished the fact on May 2nd when he participated in 3 Israeli dance events on that Sunday.

So for his exploits that day we award Mark Raver the second of these awards. Below is the plaque we would have given him if he would have accepted it.

It is Mark's classes that have produced the powerpoint preasentations you can see by clicking here. We can't give you much more information about his activities as he has refused to talk to us apparently in protest of what he claims is a misspelling of his name. Nevertheless, below is a shot of him catching the chocolate we tossed to him recently as his prize.

Congratulations to our winner, Mark, for his efforts on Sunday, May 2nd, 2010

When we established this award at the beginning of 2010 we didn't expect to have repeat awardees. But, we have an instance of this based on activities of Oct 24th when Germantown, Cherry Hill (through a field trip) and Klein all were active. The 2nd award winner above, however he spells his name (and he is very cagey and misleading on this to this web site) repeated the process on Oct 24th that he had done on May 2nd. Starting at Germantown we filmed him at that session and, while he would not allow his picture to be taken by our camera, we have secured a picture of him at the second Israeli dance event of that day, the Cherry Hill field trip to the Rieder House. Finally, he arrived just as we were leaving at the third event, Don's Sunday class at the Klein JCC meeting the criteria of 3 dance events as determined by this web site. Therefore, this award is given based on

Below is the award plaque which we would deliver except he has refused to accept it

Since he refuses to accept the box of chocolates given to all winners (we ate it ourselves and it really is great chocolate), obviously we do not have a picture of him accepting his award. But, we do have some pictures of him dancing at two of the events and will use these here.

Gee, we hope this doesn't sound repititious but the fourth winner of our award also is the winner of times two and three as indicated above. The same pattern leads to this award, A Sunday morning at Germantown, afternoon involvement with a Cherry Hill field trip (this time to the Abrams Residence in Ewing, NJ) and a evening of dancing at the Klein center. Mark Rauer did this again on April 10th and again is being awarded.

We've decided to eat the chocolate ourselves but besides the certificate below, an agreement with this web site (pertaining to another script) has allowed us to show the following pictures with his approval

And, below, are pictures of which he has approved of him dancing at several of the Cherry Hill field trips

For our fifth Israeli Iromman award, we present five individuals who won this on the same day. On January 15, 2012, Germantown met as normal and Don was running a workshop that weekend. These five did all three sessions that day. We present the certificates of Lee Friedman, Wendy Friedman, Elaine Frank, John Frank and Marc Rauer

Below are some pictures from the three events
